muscle girl Hongki



The teaser for FT Island vocalist, Lee Hongki’s Japanese drama debut piece, ‘Muscle Girl’, has been released.

Actress Ichikawa Yui, a familiar face in the Japanese drama scene, plays the manager of a weak women’s pro wrestling organization. Lee Hongki plays her counterpart; this is Hongki’s first appearance on Japanese drama.

In the teaser, you can also check out FT Island’s latest song and drama’s main OST, ‘Haruka.’

‘Muscle Girl’ is a youthful sports comedy about the world of women’s pro-wrestling. A young female manager, along with a Korean super star that she met by weird fate and individualistic female wrestlers, takes on the challenge to transform a hopeless pro-wrestling group to compete against strong rival groups. Two women’s pro-wrestling groups, Ice Ribbon and JWP, battle each other to add on a sense of reality.

The drama will premier on April 19th on TBS and on April 23rd on MBS.

B2ST’s Kikwang


B2ST’s Kikwang recently updated his Twitter with a face compilation photo. On March 27th, the idol tweeted, “Pudding Play 2,” referring to a popular Korean iPhone App that lets users take photos to their liking.
The idol showcased his small face in the photo, posing sexily for the camera by pouting his lips. His uneven eyelids are also captured, as he only has one distinct double eyelid, already known by his loyal fans. Kikwang’s distinct eyebrows and  messy hair add to his unique look.

2AM’s Jo Kwon falls off stage mid-concert, suffers minor bruising




On March 26th, 2AM’s Jo Kwon was revealed to have fallen off the stage while performing at the “10th Lotte Family Concert.
2AM was covering g.o.d.’s “One Candle” when Jo Kwon decided to walk closer to the front of the stage in order to shake hands with his fans. In an instant, however, Jo Kwon fell off the stage and disappeared into a pit of black, causing fans and concert representatives to scream mid-performance.
According to fans, although Jo Kwon was able to come right back up and continue dancing as if nothing had happened, he limped off the stage through the help of his fellow members.
Fortunately, Big Hit Entertainment revealed that he was not severely injured.
They expressed, “Jo Kwon was making his way to the front of the stage to shake hands with his fans. Unfortunately, the stage lighting wasn’t bright and he couldn’t see where he was going. According to his hospital test results, he suffered minor bruising.”
Jo Kwon hosted Inkigayo as per schedule on March 27th, showing great professionalism on his part and will visit the hospital again after it ends for further checks.

Super Junior-M to stay in Taiwan for 2 months




Having arrived in Taipei last Thursday, it was revealed that the Super Junior-M members would be staying in Taiwan for two months to promote their latest mini-album, “Perfection
SJ-M is a sub-unit of Super Junior’s and their members consist of Si Won, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Henry, Zhou MiEunhyuk and Sungmin.
The boys will be staying in a rented apartment, and are scheduled to take Mandarin lessons everyday from a local teacher. Out of the eight members, Si Won and Donghae have been described as being the most adept at the language. Si Won has been learning Mandarin for three years now, and is able to converse fluently. As for Donghae, he feels that he is really good at pronouciation, and is really skilled at pick-up lines.
Hilariously, Kyuhyun remarked, “His prounciation is really terrible!”
Eunhyuk is still adjusting to the local cuisine, and bought a big bundle of kimchi from a market the day before. As for Sungmin, he seems to have adapted really well. The star commented, “I am eating very well, I think I put on weight.” Meanwhile, Henry said, “My mum is in Taipei, so she cooked salt baked chicken for us.”
Although they would like to tour Taipei, the sight of fans hiring vehicles and chasing them around has led them to becoming a bit more reclusive instead. Donghae sighed, “I wish we could tour Taipei normally and we hope that fans don’t stick to us so closely and give us some private space.”

Besides promoting with SJ-M, Donghae and Si Won will also be staying an additional two months to film for the Taiwanese drama, “Extravagant Challenge“, opposite Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai.
Although neither have met the girls yet, Zhou Mi is already worrying about Donghae’s height disparity and joked, “Don’t stand next to her!”
Si Won already peeped the girls’ photos, and said in Mandarin, “I think they are really pretty and it’s an honor to be filming the drama with them.”
As for kissing scenes, Si Won expressed, “I understand that there are kissing scenes in the comic, but I have not gotten the script yet, so I do not know.” Donghae however stressed on the importance of having kiss scenes, “It’s not that I want it, but the viewers. Everyone loves romance.”
Eunhyuk joked, “Donghae always practices kiss scenes with his manager.”
Since their last album got nominated at the Golden Melody Awards, Zhou Mi is hoping for yet another nomination with their new album, which has already sold 20,000 copies thus far in Taiwan. He said, “We are focusing our efforts in Taiwan this time and if “Perfection” gets nominated, it will be perfection!”

Simon D for GOOGIMS




The spring season has finally arrived with a whole new batch of fashion items, which also means new endorsement opportunities for celebrities. Supreme Team’s Simon D was recently chosen to model the 2011 S/S line for the casual clothing company, GOOGIMS.
The Busan rapper, unlike his usual outgoing character in various variety shows, showed a complete transformation with a professional look that will get fans forget his comical personality in an instant.
A company representative from GOOGIMS revealed, “Simon D had overwhelming energy during the photo shoot, making it very fun for everybody. He is very fit for our spring and summer clothes, which is why we selected him as the model.”

TEEN TOP celebrates Shinhwa’s 13th anniversary




On March 24th, TEEN TOP uploaded a photo of themselves giving a deep bow on the floor in honor of the 13th anniversary of their seniors/mentors, Shinhwa.
The boys wrote, “Shinhwa seniors, congratulations on your 13th anniversary!  We’ll make sure to work just as hard as you! (Cheonji), Totally, daebaaaaaak congratulations ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (Changjo), Us TEEN TOP will work hard for just as long too ^o^ (Ricky).”
Shinhwa debuted on March 24th, 1998 and have become the longest-lasting idol group in Korea with a career boasting an astounding 13 years.
Netizens commented, “The juniors are so cute for making sure to celebrate their seniors 13th anniversary,” “I hope TEEN TOP lasts long like Shinhwa!,” and “I feel nostalgic back to Shinhwa’s debut days whenever I see TEEN TOP.”

SS501’s Park Jung Min to return with “Sweet Chic” next month


After wrapping up his solo debut with “Not Alone” earlier this year, SS501’s Park Jung Min is back again with his next album, “Sweet Chic“!
Despite promoting all around Asia for his album tour, Park Jung Min was said to have taken time out of his schedule to produce a new album out of gratitude for the love his fans have shown for his solo debut.
The singer shared photos from his album jacket photoshoot with photographer Han Dong Won, and updated fans on his progress with the new album. He also expressed his determination in showing a bigger variety of his charms.
A representative of his agency commented, “Fans will definitely be captivated with Park Jung Min’s charms once more through his next album, ‘Sweet Chic.’”
The album is scheduled for release in the beginning of April.
